The supervisory authority covers the abuse of office in thousands of cases. The judge took control of the Austrian Ministry of Justice.

Indications of abuse of office should be processed by Department III 6 in the Austrian Ministry of Justice. This department is dedicated to personnel controlling.

Chief Prosecutor MMag.a Ruth Straganz-Schröfl is the head of the so-called "Competence Center Personnel Controlling". In her letter, she referred to this function as "official supervision of the judges".

Attractive office

Liesing is a district with flowering garden settlements and beautiful single-family houses. One of the most attractive residential areas in Vienna. Located below the Georgenberg, on which the famous church by the Austrian sculptor Fritz Wotruba was built, which is one of the most important sacred buildings of the 20th century.

In Vienna Liesing, Ruth Straganz-Schröfl was the head of the district court. In this role, she was responsible for expropriation using the guardianship method. Then Straganz-Schröfl was appointed head of the oversight of judges in the Austrian Ministry of Justice.

Anyone who knows Ruth Straganz-Schröfl's career will not be surprised at her attitude. Straganz-Schröfl was previously a so-called "nursing judge" at the district court of Vienna-Liesing. In this function, she decided on expropriation by guardians.

These include spectacular cases. About Rosemarie Hödl. As a clerk in the Federal Computing Office, she had insight into sensitive data from the federal budget. Testimony from Rosemarie Hödl should be prevented. It was therefore placed under guardianship. Corruption anchored in the judicial system

By tendering dual functions, the judges took control of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Justice. Straganz-Schröfl should also be appointed as a judge at the Regional Court for Civil Law Matters in Vienna and act in the Federal Ministry of Justice.


The announcement of such dual functions is quite common in the Austrian judicial system. This is a back step in the judicial system, which is supposed to enable abuse of office and corruption, since the judges themselves took over the control function.

Representative of the judges' stand

In addition, Straganz-Schröfl in the Association of Austrian Judges was at that time the head of the constitutional and service law section. The association represents the interests of the judges. That is why one of the specialist group's declared purposes is: "Promotion of judicial independence".

For this purpose, Ruth Straganz-Schröfl organized meetings with the court leaders, in which “all questions of service supervision and service law” were expressly discussed.


Ruth Straganz-Schröfl was an important person in the representation of interests of the judge. Now she is working in the Ministry of Justice to oversee the Austrian judges as senior prosecutor. Abuse of office is reliably covered.
